You can opt to turn off the use of cookies at anytime by changing settings in your web browser.

Examples of data collected from visitors to this site include:

1. I use Google Analytics and Who’s Amung Us to analyze blog traffic. These services collect information such as the following from visitors:

  • Internet Protocol addresses (IP)
  • visitor location (town/state/country)
  • Type of web browser
  • Date and time stamp
  • Referring and exit pages
  • Number of clicks on links

No personally identifiable information is collected by these services (i.e., no names or other personal information).

2. I use various services to serve advertisements on Runblogger. Among these are Google Adsense, Amazon Affiliates, and Lijit Networks. These services use cookies to help them tailor ads to individual interests, and I have no access to or control over these cookies as they are served by a third party. Below are additional details about each service:

a. Google Adsense: You can typically opt-out of Adsense interest based advertising by clicking on the little blue AdChoices arrow at the top-right corner of the ad. You can also review Google’s Content Network Privacy Policy.

b. Amazon Affiliates uses cookies to provide tailored ads to products on Amazon.com. You can read the Amazon Affiliates Operating Agreement here.

c. Lijit Networks is a third-party ad server that provides ads relevant to user interests. You can access Lijit’s opt-out policy here.

d. I use various Affiliate Advertising programs (Commission Junction, Avantlink, Google Affiliate Network) to advertise specific products on Runblogger. When you purchase a product through one of these links, the sale is recorded (price and product name) and I get a small commission. No personal information is collected in the process.

e. I partner with Golf Pixel, which is an ad targeting service that serves ads related to my running content when readers visit other websites. Specifically, Golf Pixel collects NPII preference information to help our clients display targeted advertising to specific users in the future. For more information, visit the Golf Pixel website.

On occasion I may collect emails for product giveaways or other purposes. I value your privacy and do not share these email addresses or any other personal information with third parties.
